Our university's Research and Application Center for Disabled Individuals, ZİÇEV, the Hope for the Disabled Association, and the Directorate of the Women's and Family Studies Application and Research Center organized a panel on the topic of “Challenges Faced by Families of Children with Special Needs and Their Legal Rights.”
The panel was held at the Bahaeddin Ögel Conference Hall and was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut DOĞRU, Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Ömer Faruk ERGÜN, Director of the Research and Application Center for Disabled Individuals Prof. Dr. Hatice ERÖKSÜZ, Director of the Women's and Family Studies Application and Research Center Prof. Dr. Bahar DEMİREL, President of the Foundation for the Training and Protection of Children with Intellectual Disabilities (ZİÇEV) Kamile ATALAY, President of the Hope for the Disabled Association Zehra ÖZKAL, academicians, students, and invited guests.
In her speech, Prof. Dr. Hatice ERÖKSÜZ, Director of the Research and Application Center for Disabled Individuals, stated that the panel was organized to gather suggestions on the rights, needs, and social challenges faced by individuals with special needs, who deserve to participate in every area of society, and to discuss solutions to these issues.
During the event, ZİÇEV students presented various performances, and a visually impaired student from our University’s State Conservatory performed a ney recital.
The event concluded with a panel on "Challenges Faced by Families of Children with Special Needs and Their Legal Rights" conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Handan KARAKAYA and Dr. Instructor Ümran Cihan DÜNDAR from our University’s Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
